DESCRIPTION:Join us for a delicious evening of food and community at the 7th Annual St Petersburg IFTAR Dinner!\n\n\nWelcome to the 7th Annual St Petersburg IFTAR Dinner! \n \nPlease join the Tampa Bay Area Muslim Association and the City of St. Petersburg as we “break bread together with peace\, love\, and compassion for all humanity.” \n \nEach year the Tampa Bay Area Muslim Associations hosts a free community Iftar dinner at the St. Petersburg Coliseum for over 800 community members from various faiths\, and all walks of life\, to break down barriers and find common ground. \n \nTogether we can rekindle our innate desire as humans to connect with one another in productive and meaningful ways and re-discover the spirit that unites us as “We the People” of St. Petersburg. \n \nIn the Muslim faith\, the holy month of Ramadan is about reflection\, community\, giving\, and prayer. Each night we break the month’s daily fast with a celebratory Iftar dinner shared with family and friends. Please join us. \n \nIMPORTANT NOTE: In order to cut down on noisy distractions during the program we encourage you to please arrive early and be seated by the start of the event. If you do arrive late\, we will be asking you to please wait in the lobby until there is a break between speakers. I have been honored with numerous awards both in Japan and internationally\, including recognitions in New York and across various European countries\, notably France. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n花鳥風月 \n“Kachō Fūgetsu” (花鳥風月) is a traditional Japanese phrase that encapsulates the beauty and poetry of nature. It is composed of four kanji characters:– 花 (Ka) – Flowers/blossoms- 鳥 (Chō) – Birds- 風 (Fū) – Wind- 月 (Getsu) – Moon \nThis phrase represents more than just a simple list of natural elements. It embodies the Japanese aesthetic appreciation of nature and its changing seasons\, including:- Cherry and plum blossoms in spring- Birds singing in trees- The autumn breeze at dusk- The moon shining in the winter sky.The concept goes beyond mere natural description – it represents a fundamental aspect of Japanese cultural sensitivity and artistic appreciation. It appears frequently in traditional Japanese arts such as:- Waka and haiku poetry- Ink wash painting (sumi-e)- Traditional garden design- Classical literatureIn modern usage\, “Kachō Fūgetsu” is often used to describe scenes of natural beauty or situations that evoke a profound sense of artistic refinement and appreciation of nature. It reflects the Japanese cultural value of finding beauty in the subtle changes of the natural world and living in harmony with nature’s rhythms.The term exemplifies the Japanese aesthetic principle of finding profound beauty in simple\, natural elements rather than artificial or elaborate constructions.
