SUMMARY:workshop: polaroid photography – Canceled
DESCRIPTION:@ \n \n \n\n\n\nThis event has been canceled. \nIn conjunction with our special exhibition The Subversive Eye: Surrealist and Experimental Photography from the David Raymond Collection we invite you to join us for a fantastic evening of polaroid photography. \nPolaroid photography aficionado Lance Rothstein has been making instant photos since before 2008. Lance will bring a table full of Polaroid cameras from his personal collection and guide you through the fun process of creating Polaroid pictures. He’ll discuss the history of Polaroid\, show examples from famous photographers and share images from his tour of the Polaroid Factory in the Netherlands. Lance will also explain the different types of instant cameras and films currently available\, as well as those that have been discontinued. \nEach participant will be provided with an instant camera to borrow and one pack of instant film. After a brief instructional session on how to get the best results from your camera and film\, along with some creative tips\, you’ll have about 40 minutes to take photos on a guided photo walk outside and around the Museum’s first floor\, with advice available if needed. Digital photos can also be turned into real Polaroid pictures using Instant Labs. Afterward\, we’ll return to the room to share our images and discuss the experience. \nLocation: The Dalí Museum’s Raymond James Community RoomTickets: $65 for Museum members | $75 for non-membersNot yet a member? Join today. \nA week prior to the event\, registration will close. Materials are included. Gallery admission included after the workshop. \n\nLance Rothstein \nLocal darkroom guru Lance Rothstein is a native Floridian photographer\, now living in Clearwater. A professional photojournalist by trade\, his clients have included Time Magazine\, The Miami Herald\, Sports Illustrated\, and the New York Times. He was a staff photographer for the The Tampa Bay Times\, and The Tampa Tribune. \nLance studied Visual Art at FSU under great artists such as George Blakely\, Robert Fichter\, Ed Love\, Mark Messersmith and Mary Jo Toles. Other workshops included Jerry Ullesmann\, Donna Ferrato\, James Nachtwey\, Sebastiao Salgado and Gordon Parks. \nAfter working as a freelance photographer for six years in Belgium and capturing images all over Europe\, Lance has returned to Florida and is continuing his never-ending experiments with all things photographic. He has a passion for traditional film and alternative photography methods\, he’s a Polaroid addict and a pathological camera collector. Lance also runs the Film Photography Archive\, and the Art & Photography website “Labeauratoire.”

SUMMARY:Dome Night: Pink Floyd – The Dark Side of the Moon Immersive Show
DESCRIPTION:@ \n \n \n\n\n\nmember tickets\nnon-member tickets\n\nInspired by Salvador Dalí’s environmental and immersive artistic creations such as those for the 1939 World’s Fair\, The Dalí Dome provides the community with new multisensory experiences celebrating art of all forms. New evening shows will be presented in this unique\, 360-degree format. \nNow playing in The Dalí Dome is the immersive show\, “Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon.” Over 50 years after the iconic album’s original release in 1973\, celebrate and experience it while encompassed in 360 degrees of sight\, sound and sensation. This experience offers—like Salvador Dalí’s art—a glimpse into creative worlds that are both remarkably insightful and fantastically unconventional. \nThe immersive show is available on select nights. \nTickets: $20 for Museum members | $25 for non-members \nLocation: The Dalí Museum’s first floor and The Dalí Dome \nCafé Gala will be open with drinks + select menu items available for purchase. Exhibit contains simulations\, such as flashing lights\, which may affect those susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy\, vertigo or other visual sensitivities and motion sickness. \n\nPink Floyd\, renowned for their revolutionary impact on the music industry\, has embraced how the show artfully blends the album’s themes of everyday modern life with breathtaking views of the solar system and beyond. Played out to 42 minutes of The Dark Side of the Moon in surround sound\, each song has a different theme\, some futuristic and some a retro acknowledgment to Pink Floyd’s visual history\, all relating to a time and space experience\, making it the perfect backdrop to celestial visuals. NSC Creative led the visual production efforts\, working closely with Pink Floyd’s long-time creative collaborator Aubrey Powell from Hipgnosis. \nFeaturing the latest technology The Dalí Dome offers\, this is an all-encompassing surround sound and visual treat that will transcend reality and take you way beyond the realms of 2D experience. \n\n“Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon” immersive show is distributed by: \n\n“Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon” immersive show is supported by:
